PRONUNCIATION
Stress in prefix words usually falls on the main root, not the prefix:
UP-skill, RE-skill, DE-skill.
Comparative endings:
-er is pronounced /ər/ (faster → /ˈfæstər/).
-est is pronounced /ɪst/ or /əst/ (fastest → /ˈfæstɪst/).
Watch difference between:
funny (someone who makes you laugh) vs. fun (an enjoyable experience).
