GRAMMAR:Use of “on” with days (on Monday), informal sentence structure, use of discourse markers and fillers to buy time or show listening.
PRONUNCIATION:Natural intonation in reactions and fillers (e.g., “Really?”, “Wow.”, “Oh.”)
OTHER:He grasped the purpose of small talk and could understand and reproduce useful expressions. He showed some hesitation and lack of fluency when responding spontaneously, particularly in the role-plays. This is something to work on consistently over time.
PROGRESS:He was able to identify appropriate responses and use key phrases, but his delivery was sometimes hesitant. With support, he completed the activities.
FEEDBACK:He understood the expressions and their context. However, he had difficulty with spontaneity and hesitated when reacting naturally during informal dialogue. He needs more exposure to everyday spoken English and further practice with real-time conversations.
HOMEWORK:Practise saying the following sentences out loud, using a natural, relaxed tone and adding fillers or reactions where appropriate:This coffee is delicious.I think I’ll have lunch now.I have so much work to do today!I’m a bit tired.
