BUSINESS SITUATIONS: General English practice with a focus on grammar consolidation.
SUBJECT OR TOPIC: Present simple, present continuous, stative and non-stative verbs.
LANGUAGE FUNCTIONS: Talking about routines, habits, and ongoing actions; distinguishing between completed and ongoing past events; recognizing stative and non-stative verbs.

VOCABULARY: make-up exam, bathing/swim suit, hectic, relaxed, gym, waves, novel, ready for work, smell delicious, boxer, fight, crash, slip/fall, background story.
PHRASES / EXPRESSIONS: soaking up the sunshine.
GRAMMAR:
Present simple used for facts, routines, and habits.
Present continuous used for actions in progress and current situations.
Stative and non-stative verbs, with attention to verbs that can have both meanings such as think, see, and have.
PRONUNCIATION: Focus on the sounds in words such as clothes, behind, stubborn.
OTHER: The lesson reviewed up to Activity 6 in the course material to ensure the uses of present simple and continuous are clear.
PROGRESS: He understood everything clearly and was able to apply the structures correctly in context.
FEEDBACK: Very good progress. He can distinguish when to use stative versus non-stative forms and used examples accurately. His grasp of past simple versus past continuous was strong (homework).
HOMEWORK: Complete Activity 7 Part D by writing three truths and one lie using the present perfect and past simple.
