Past simple verbs (think/thought, forget/forgot), expressing ability and confidence (can/can’t, I don’t know if...), indirect ways of giving advice
PRONUNCIATION:
Focused on clear word stress in “confident” vs “confidential” and correct vowel sounds in “task” and “files”
OTHER:
He was engaged in listening and reading tasks and understood some of the vocabulary from the audio.
PROGRESS:
He was able to identify some words and phrases from the listening, but had a lot of difficulty reformulating and producing alternative dialogues. His comprehension was better than his oral production, and he will need more structured support to move from recognition to active use.
FEEDBACK:
He showed effort and stayed engaged with the tasks, but he had difficulty when speaking. He needs more practice reformulating ideas in his own words and should continue focusing on pronunciation differences such as “confident” vs “confidential.”
HOMEWORK:
Rewrite three of the “bad” workplace phrases from today’s lesson into polite and professional alternatives. For example, change “I thought you were doing that” into a more professional sentence.
